Are you interested in making a difference while helping people and learning new skills? Do you have a special talent you would like to share with others? Are you retired and looking for an opportunity to interact with other people? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, look no further! Northern Nevada Medical Center has a wonderful way for you to get involved through our volunteer program.
Why volunteer?
At Northern Nevada Medical Center, our volunteers are integral team members. They help the hospital deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare to the community and, at the same time, allow the professional staff more time for patient care, thus improving service. Volunteers also assist healthcare professionals in providing a positive experience for patients and their families.
Our volunteers are a varied group of men and women ranging in age from 18 to 80 with a long tradition of service excellence. They are college students, stay-at-home parents and retirees, as well as professionals holding full- and part-time jobs who are interested in giving back to their community through volunteerism. Some volunteers come every day, others several days a week.
Through the program, volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills and experience to provide personalized attention to our patients, families and visitors. You'll have the opportunity to meet new people, develop lasting friendships and enjoy new experiences. Volunteers work throughout the hospital and have different kinds of responsibilities. But they all have one thing in common: A desire to help others.
