Todd Inman, MD, the Medical Director of the Wound Care Center at Northern Nevada Medical Center, knows a thing or two about caring for hard-to-heal wounds. A board-certified family practice physician with Northern Nevada Medical Group, Dr. Inman has worked with the Wound Care Center since it opened in 2008.

In this role, Dr. Inman helps patients with problem wounds receive evidence-based wound care therapy from the Center's dedicated staff of physicians, nurses and hyperbaric technicians.

"This is something I'm passionate about, and I'm really excited to head up the clinical team here," Dr. Inman says. "Many patients are afraid and frustrated because they develop wounds that just won't heal. That's why it's so rewarding when we can help them achieve rapid wound healing -- it can get them back to the activities they enjoy, contributing to a much higher quality of life."

The Wound Care Center provides comprehensive wound care to patients suffering from chronic, nonhealing wounds that are often caused by diabetes, poor circulation or other conditions. The Center features the area's only physician-supervised hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

"With advanced wound care, we are able to achieve healing in up to 90 percent of our patients with severe chronic wounds," Dr. Inman says. "We truly have some excellent technology at our fingertips."
